Washington, DC, November 28, 2016 - The Board of Directors of Everybody Wins! DC (EW!DC) is pleased to announce that Dr. Molly Teas has been named the new Executive Director.
Molly will be responsible for working with the Board and leading the staff to deliver on EW!DC's mission of promoting children's literacy and a love of learning through shared reading experiences with caring individuals, supporting the organization's long-term financial sustainability, and building public awareness and support for EW!DC's work. She brings extensive leadership experience in the nonprofit sector and in bringing about sustainable change through innovative education approaches.
"We have found a wonderful new leader for EW!DC, who I am confident will build on the extraordinary foundation, vision, strategy and team that Mary Salander has so effectively built and nurtured from the inception of EW!DC," said Mark Director, Chairman of the EW!DC Board of Directors. "Molly brings tremendous leadership experience, passion, and a deep commitment to education and reading. We are thrilled to have Molly leading us into our next exciting phase of growth and the entire Board looks forward to working with her."
Mary Salander, EW!DC's current Executive Director, announced her intention to retire earlier this year after co-founding and leading the organization across the past 21 years and has been actively involved in the leadership selection and transition process. "I am delighted to have Molly taking the helm and know she will be a terrific leader and voice for the organization in the years ahead," said Salander.
"We are so grateful for Mary's decades of skillful leadership and inspiration," Director added. "Our ability to attract a person of Molly's extraordinary caliber and talents is a tribute to the high quality of the EW!DC programs, the importance of our mission and the enduring significance of the vision that Mary has been so instrumental in shaping."
Molly has spent over 25 years working to improve the quality of education systems and accelerate learning globally. She has worked for organizations such as the World Bank, the World Wildlife Fund and the Millennium Challenge Corporation, beginning her career as a Peace Corps teacher in Nepal. Her career also included serving as Senior Education Advisor at the U.S. State Department where she created innovative partnerships with corporate and nonprofit entities to strengthen education in the U.S. and abroad.

Molly holds a doctoral degree in Education from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. She also earned a Masters from the University of Wisconsin and a Bachelor's degree from Lawrence University. She currently serves on the board of Art Works for Change.
